Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program of AMA Computer University is a ten-trimester program designed to provide a world-class bachelor’s education in Psychology that is not only nationally accredited but also globally competitive and to produce graduates who will be professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development.

The curriculum is based on the standards and minimum requirement of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and is benchmarked from the curricula of leading academic institutions, national and international, offering similar program.

Program Objectives

AMA’s AB Psychology program aims to produce globally competitive graduates who will be professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development.

Specifically, the program intends:

  1. To train students to appreciate the complexities of human behavior, and teaches them the tools with which to understand these complexities.
  2. To enable students to obtain a comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of the field of Psychology.
  3. To enable students to acquire the theoretical and practical skills needed to be globally competitive and nationally recognized Psychologist.
  4. To enable students to get a broad liberal education in the arts and letters, social sciences and philosophy, natural science and mathematics.
  5. To enable students to develop the cultural sensitivity, ethical responsibility, and social consciousness needed to become upright citizens of the Philippines and the world.

Career Path

Through graduate studies in Psychology, students may become chartered psychologists, working in clinical settings with clients who have emotional problems or mental illness. They may also study to become research psychologists in one of the many areas of psychology. Graduates may also go on to professional studies in fields such as medicine, law, or business.
